My, how things have changed. When I was growing up the closest thing we had to a good superhero game was Batman Returns on the Master System. Fast forward 20 years and it's a golden age for powers, and now Sucker Punch has delivered the first taste on PS4 with inFamous: Second Son.
As I'm sure you can tell from comments threads surrounding the title, Delsin Rowe's jaunt through a futuristic Seattle is also Sony's first big game for the PlayStation 4 since the console launched last November. It's an important title for Sony. But does it sparkle in the eyes of the critics, or has it left them fuming? Here's what they have to say:

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Someone deliberately diverted Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and shut down communications with the ground, and the jetliner continued flying for six hours, Malaysia's prime minister said Saturday. The announcement shifted the focus of the investigation to the crew and passengers on the plane, which has now been missing for more than a week.

Prime Minister Najib Razak's statement also meant the flight path of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 to Beijing could have strayed as far as the southern Indian Ocean or northwest to Kazakhstan, complicating the work of search crews who already have been scouring vast stretches of ocean seeking the plane's 12-person crew and 227 passengers.
Police on Saturday told CBS News that the homes of all of the jetliner's flight crew were searched after being under surveillance for the last few days. Authorities have said they will be investigating the pilots as part of their probe, but have released no information about how they are progressing.
"Clearly the search for (Flight) MH370 has entered a new phase," Najib said at a televised news conference.
Experts have previously said that whoever disabled the plane's communication systems and then flew the jet must have had a high degree of technical knowledge and flying experience. One possibility they have raised was that one of the pilots wanted to commit suicide.

Najib stressed that investigators were looking into all possibilities as to why the plane deviated so drastically from its original flight path, saying authorities could not confirm whether or not it was a hijacking. Earlier Saturday, a Malaysian government official called the plane's disappearance a hijacking to The Associated Press, though he said no motive had been established and no demands had been made known.
"In view of this latest development, the Malaysian authorities have refocused their investigation into the crew and passengers on board," Najib told reporters, reading from a written statement but not taking any questions.

The plane was carrying 239 people when it departed for an overnight flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing at 12:40 a.m. on March 8. The plane's communications with civilian air controllers were severed at about 1:20 a.m., and the jet went missing - heralding one of the most puzzling mysteries in modern aviation history.
Investigators now have a high degree of certainty that one of the plane's communications systems - the Aircraft and Communications Addressing and Reporting System - was disabled before the aircraft reached the east coast of Malaysia, Najib said. Shortly afterward, someone on board then switched off the aircraft's transponder, which communicates with civilian air traffic controllers.
The prime minister confirmed that Malaysian air force defense radar picked up traces of the plane turning back westward, crossing over Peninsular Malaysia into the northern stretches of the Strait of Malacca. Authorities previously had said this radar data could not be verified.
"These movements are consistent with deliberate action by someone on the plane," Najib said.
Although the aircraft was flying virtually blind to air traffic controllers at this point, onboard equipment continued to send "pings" to satellites.
U.S. aviation safety experts say the shutdown of communications systems makes it clear the missing Malaysia Airlines jet was taken over by someone who knew how the plane worked.
To turn off the transponder, someone in the cockpit would have to turn a knob with multiple selections to the "off" position while pressing down at the same time, said John Goglia, a former member of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board. That's something a pilot would know, but it could also be learned by someone who researched the plane on the Internet, he said.
The Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System has two aspects, Goglia said. The information part of the system was shut down, but not the transmission part. In most planes, the information section can be shut down by hitting cockpit switches in sequence in order to get to a computer screen where an option must be selected using a keypad, said Goglia, an expert on aircraft maintenance.
That's also something a pilot would know how to do, but that could also be discovered through research, he said.
But to turn off the other transmission portion of the ACARS, it would be necessary to go to an electronics bay beneath the cockpit. That's something a pilot wouldn't normally know how to do, Goglia said. The Malaysia plane's ACARS transmitter continued to send out blips that were recorded by satellite once an hour for four to five hours after the transponder was turned off. The blips don't contain any messages or data, but the satellite can tell in a very broad way what region the blips are coming from.
Najib said the last confirmed signal between the plane and a satellite came at 8:11 a.m. - 7 hours and 31 minutes after takeoff. This was more than five hours later than the previous time given by Malaysian authorities as the possible last contact.Airline officials have said the plane had enough fuel to fly for up to about eight hours.
"The investigations team is making further calculations which will indicate how far the aircraft may have flown after this last point of contact," Najib said.
He said authorities had determined that the plane's last communication with a satellite was in one of two possible "corridors" - a northern one from northern Thailand through to the border of the Central Asian countries Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, and a southern one from Indonesia to the southern Indian Ocean.
He said that searching in the South China Sea, where the plane first lost contact, had ended.
Two-thirds of the plane's 227 passengers were Chinese, and the Beijing government is under pressure to give relatives firm news of the plane's fate. In a statement after Najib finished speaking, Beijing urged "Malaysia to expand and clarify the search areas based on the latest information and step up search efforts," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qing Gang said. "We ask Malaysia to involve more countries in the search."
A map shows 83 large-aircraft flights that have disappeared since 1948, according to research by Bloomberg news.

Malaysia has faced accusations that it isn't sharing all its information or suspicions about the plane's final movements, which have been the subject of constant media leaks both in Malaysia and the United States. Najib said that he understood the need for families to receive information, but that his government wanted to release only fully corroborated information.
He said that from Day One, the country had been sharing information with international investigators, even when it meant placing "national security concerns" second to the search, a likely reference to its release of military radar data. U.S., British and Malaysian air safety investigators have been on the ground in Malaysia to assist with the investigation.
In the Chinese capital, relatives of passengers who have anxiously awaited news at a hotel near Beijing's airport said they felt deceived at not being told earlier about the plane's last signal. "We are going through a roller coaster, and we feel helpless and powerless," said a woman, who declined to give her name.
At least one of the people waiting at the hotel saw a glimmer of hope in word that the plane's disappearance was a deliberate act, rather than a crash. "It's very good," said a woman, who gave only her surname, Wen.
Malaysian police have already said they are looking at the psychological state, family life and connections of pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53, and co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid, 27. Both have been described as respectable, community-minded men.
Zaharie joined Malaysia Airlines in 1981 and had more than 18,000 hours of experience. His Facebook page showed an aviation enthusiast who flew remote-controlled aircraft, posting pictures of his collection, which included a lightweight twin-engine helicopter and an amphibious aircraft.
Fariq was contemplating marriage after having just graduated to the cockpit of a Boeing 777. He has drawn scrutiny after the revelation that in 2011, he and another pilot invited two women aboard their aircraft to sit in the cockpit for a flight from Phuket, Thailand, to Kuala Lumpur.
Fourteen countries are involved in the search, which is using 43 ships and 58 aircraft
The USS Kidd destroyer arrived late Friday in the Strait of Malacca, from where U.S. officials said it would move into the Bay of Bengal to help in the search. It uses a "creeping-line" search method of following a pattern of equally spaced parallel lines in an effort to completely cover an area.
A P-8A Poseidon, the most advanced long-range anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare aircraft in the world, was to arrive over the weekend and sweep parts of the Indian Ocean. It has a nine-member crew and has advanced surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, the U.S. Defense Department said in a statement.

A head of a bitcoin exchange has been found dead in an apparent suicide, it emerged today.
The body of First Meta Exchange CEO Autumn Radtke was found at her apartment in Singapore on Friday.
Toxicology test results to determine the exact cause of death of the 28-year-old American were still be awaited, authorities said.
First Meta Exchange said: The First Meta team is shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and CEO Autumn Radtke.
Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and loved ones. Autumn was an inspiration to all of us and she will be sorely missed.
Ms Radtke, was recruited in 2012 by Singapore-based investor Douglas Abrams to lead First Meta an early pioneer in the virtual currency.
She had worked for Californian mobile and gaming companies and on bigger projects such as Apples Aqua Connect.
Ms Radtke posted a link to an essay called The Psychological Price Of Entrepreneurship writing that everything has its price, on February 10. Her friend, model Katie Stone, wrote on Facebook:You were just smarter that way than anyone else.

How much does the prospect of a gold statue mean for a movie's box-office treasure trove?
This year's set of nominees for the best picture Oscar certainly doesn't have the same number of all-out hits as last year. The 2013 roster boasted six films that crossed the $100-million mark in North America, plus one that came close ("Zero Dark Thirty," with $96 million). The current crop has just four $100-million-plus-to-date movies.
It's common to try to tease out which movie got the biggest bounce in ticket sales from the nominations. But many contenders were already at the ends of their theatrical runs by the time the Academy Awards nods were announced in January, making the numbers difficult to interpret.

"Gravity" has sold $13 million in tickets after the selections, or about 5% of its total from the U.S. and Canada since its October release. "American Hustle," which launched closer to the Hollywood awards season, has grossed $40 million, or roughly 40% of its domestic take to-date, since it went up for 10 honors.
Smaller film fare possibly has more to gain from academy approval, attracting attention that a "Dallas Buyers Club" or "Nebraska" may not have otherwise received. About half of "Nebraska's" modest $17-million gross has come post-nomination, and it's been in theaters (albeit not that many of them) since November.
Studios typically try to capitalize on the awards buzz by releasing their films into more theaters. For example, Warner Bros. bumped up the theater count for the space thriller "Gravity" by nearly 800% after the announcement of its 10 nominations, according to data compiled by Rentrak.

"Captain Phillips," "12 Years a Slave" and "Dallas Buyers Club" also received significant re-releases and expansions.
However, others including "The Wolf of Wall Street," "Philomena" and "Her" reduced their theater counts over the two weeks after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' nominees were announced.
But the meaningfulness of the Oscar "bump" may be overemphasized.Paul Dergarabedian, Rentrak's senior media analyst, wrote in a blog post that contenders have enjoyed longer stays in theaters than they otherwise would have, even if several of the movies still saw their revenue drop off in the following weeks.

"All have gained a revitalized theatrical lease on life by virtue of the Oscar attention and are happily still adding dollars to their bottom line," he said.
In other years, the Oscar windfall has been more pronounced. According to Rentrak, the Weinstein Co.'s 2012 winner "The Artist" took in more than 60% of its $45-million haul after it was nominated for best picture (which it won), but that barely compares with "Slumdog Millionaire" in 2009.
That movie ended up with $141 million in North American ticket sales -- most of it coming after "Millionaire" earned 10 Oscar nominations.

WASHINGTON -- Although there's still traces of snow on the ground, that won't stop people from celebrating National Margarita Day Saturday, Feb. 22.
While it's not exactly clear who invented this tequila based cocktail, it is estimated that it dates back to the 1930s, according to the National Margarita Day website.
And, we can thank restaurateur Mariano Martinez for inventing the frozen margarita machine 40 years ago for his Dallas restaurant.
Martinez retrofitted an old soft-serve machine and used his father's margarita recipe.
Today, that first margarita machine is in the collection of the National Museum of American History in Washington.
The traditional maragarita is made of tequila, triple sec and lime juice and can be served with or without ice and salt on the rim of the glass.

Doubtlessly one of the greatest pleasures of this years Olympics has been watching the many flamboyant wardrobe changes of Johnny Weir former figure-skating champion, current NBC commentator and future fashion icon for Putin trolls everywhere.
Weir, who appears on-air with his (comparatively unglamorous) co-commentator Tara Lipinski, has worn a series of outfits intended either to make the next edition of The Sartorialist or to rally Russias LGBT advocates around their TVs. Weir has long been known for what he calls his crazy fashion sense he once showed up to an Isaac Mizrahi fashion show in a baby blue fur coat with coordinating tote. As for his look at the Olympics, he told Philadelphiamagazine it was inspired by another kind of game:
I decided to go more of Stanley Tuccis character from The Hunger Games. Im trying to stay between the lines of Johnny on Skating with the Stars and the rest of the NBC mens family in Brooks Brothers.
It would seem hes leaning toward the Skating with the Stars end of that spectrum. On Saturday, he wore a ruffled shirt, skinny jeans and the first of many fur coats. The necklace is Joomi Lim; his shoes appear to be Louboutins.
Sunday, Weir broke out the lipstick, pearl necklace and what have to be the tightest pants NBC is allowed to show on TV. The necklace is Erickson Beamon, a brand also beloved by Kim Kardashian and Beyonce.
Yesterday was tame by comparison: a ruffled shirt, Billy Reid NYC jacket, leather leggings by RAI LA and wedges by Rick Owens.
Apparently underwhelmed by that muted palette, Weir appeared on todays broadcast in a hot-pink vintage Chanel blazer and leather leggings.
to paraphrase Weirs legions of Instagram fans: flawless.
That said, Weirs tenure as NBC analyst has not been without controversy.The 29-year-old, whodescribes himselfas as gay as they come, defied LGBT activists who wanted him to boycott the games in protest of the countrys human rights abuses. (Many of them are still very angry about it.) Meanwhile, he insisted that he didnt want to make any kind of political statement at the games, even telling the New York Times that the Olympics are not the place to make a political statement:
Im not a politician and I dont really talk about politics. You dont have to agree with the politics, but you have to respect the culture of a country you are visiting.
Whether Weir intends it or not, however, his flamboyant furs and hot-pink blazer have become a symbol of more than just good fun. Thats at least how theyre being interpreted by Sochi-watchers back home.
In either case, we look forward to seeing what Johnny wears tomorrow.

New Girl's post-Super Bowl episode was a biggie for Nick and Jess, as they finally reached that inevitable point in their relationship where one of them professed their love for the other. It's a storyline we've seen a bajillion times on TV, and usually it goes something like, "I love you!" "...Thank you?" Indeed, some fans might have been a little weary going through that whole song-and-dance again, this time with Nick and Jess.To its credit, though, New Girl opted out of the usual gimmick and went with something slightly different: finger guns! Oh, and a certain someone namedPrince.
While the whole Prince party/"I love you" setup felt sort of contrived, it nevertheless made for some amusing moments -- for instance, the fact that Schmidt automatically thought he was invited to the party and went out and bought a $2,000 suit in hopes of meeting cooler friends. Also kinda funny was Coach's obvious plug for his Ford Fusion. But the greatest bit was saved for Coach and Winston, who resurrected "Fire and Ice," an old play that they used to run to get into clubs and parties; but Nick's "Ham and Cheese" equivalent was a close second, as he hung Schmidt out to dry. ("I'm Trojan Horsing! I found a bunch of models. Every man for himself!")
The fun and games continued once everyone got inside the party. It was good to see that Schmidt and Cece appear to be getting even closer -- both emotionally and physically. ("It's always good to see old friends.") I especially enjoyed Schmidt going the extra mile with the lemon game by actually eating the lemon. ("That's not even the game!")Another fun moment came when Nick drunkenly interrupted Fire and Ice from macking on Alessandra Ambrosio and Ana Beatriz Barros.
"I never thought I'd say this, but... I need to be alone with Prince."
Of course, the big draw of this week's episode was Prince himself, and in that regard there was certainly no shortage of Prince or his Prince-isms. In particular, it was Nick and Jess's reaction to meeting Prince that got the biggest laugh from me, specifically Nick's uncontrollable screams of disbelief.
As for Prince's love guru schtick with Jess, it seemed pretty random that Prince would, for any reason, take an interest in Jess's personal problems over anybody else's at the party. Moreover, the montage of whimsical love training was more just ridiculous than actually funny -- Jess's new clothes, ping pong and the CG butterfly, to name a few examples. Thankfully, Prince was, well... justPrince enough to make it work ("So, do you like pancakes?") -- though Jess singing at the end might have been pushing it.
It did help that afterwards the gang openly talked about crazy and weird the night was, with Coach postulating, "Did... that... happen?" and Schmidt quietly adding, "Where do we go from here? Do I just go to work tomorrow?" It's true, parts of "Prince" felt like a bit of a stretch, even by New Girl's standards, but it did make the painful process of Nick and Jess declaring their love for each other moderately more entertaining that it otherwise would have been. As far as "I love you" episodes go, this one was definitely memorable, if not wholly original.

I dont want to alarm you so early in the morning, but Ellen DeGeneres is sick. I know it sounds impossible, but apparently even angels can get the sniffles. Ellen has come down with the flu, so either she subjected her producer Andy Lassner to an on-air flu shot last week and didnt get one herself, or it just didnt kick in in time. Despite what you might assume, Im not a doctor, so I cant explain Ellens illness to you. What I can explain is that she had to call in sick for yesterdays taping and get her first-ever guest host to fill in. And she got just about the best host she could get, besides Tina and Amy, who should host everything. She got Ellie Kemper!
Ellies become a bit of a staple on Ellens show, just showing up to attend DJ school or wrap Christmas gifts at the mall, and every time she reaches through the screen and steals my heart. She just seems like the sweetest, most fun person to hang out with, so obviously shes the perfect choice to fill in for Ellen, who also has those qualities, with an added intimidating quality because ohmygod its Ellen!
Ellies opening monologue is just as gosh darn adorable as youd expect it to be. She even admits that shes adorable herself, but in the most adorable way. She also spends the first minute or so looking into the wrong camera and then confesses she has no idea what shes doing. You can tell that shes nervous, but in the most relatable way. Like not in the way that makes you want to crawl under the covers in embarrassment, but in the way that makes you smile and want to hug her. So while no one could possibly replace Ellen in our hearts, Im totally cool with Ellie being her understudy. Like she says herself, they should totally have those for talk show hosts. Sometimes even Ellen needs a break.
